The Irish American Democrats seeks a fellow to support it’s efforts in advance of 2016. This remote fellowship will work with the Political Action committee’s board to develop and implement the organization’s political, fundraising, and media goals. This is a wonderful opportunity to gain political experience while setting your own hours and managing your own schedule. This program should take roughly 5 hours a week.
About the Irish American Democrats:
IAD works with the White House, current members of the Senate and U.S. House of Representatives, in support of continued U.S. involvement in the Irish peace process. IAD also supports challengers who display an active interest inIrish issues.
Irish American Democrats was founded in 1996 to support the re-election of President Clinton who had made Peace inIreland a priority during his first term in office. Since then, the political action committee has raised funds to support candidates who take an active interest in Irish Issues, and promote prosperity both here in the U.S. and in Ireland.
Duties:
- Develop weekly social media posts and help maintain the PAC’s online presence.
- Assist in tracking and developing lists of elected officials around the country.
- Assist in planning and executing in-person and remote events around the country to engage with the IrishAmerican community.
Preferred Experience:
- Active interest in the key issues aligned with the PAC including: support for the Irish Peace Process, international aid for Ireland, Immigration, Labor issues.
- Strong experience working with social media platforms.
- Strong oral and writing ability.
- Self-starter and able to meet goals while working remotely.
